A Common Problem when Changing your Lifestyle

One of the biggest problems we see with some of our clients is not taking consistent action over a longer period of time.

Consistency is not really the most exciting word, but we all know that with time, it’s what will give us real results in our life. Sticking with your personal Eating Plan and doing it consistently – not just when you feel inspired or your health declines – is very powerful and it will get you somewhere!

Here are a few things that may help you with this:

Remind yourself EVERY DAY why you’re taking action

We find it easy to know the ‘how’, ‘what’ and ‘where’… but the most important thing is the ‘why’! Work out your main reasons for ‘why’ you’re changing your eating habits and lifestyle permanently.

  • Why are you on this journey?
  • Why is it important for you to reach your health goals?
  • Why is it important to lose the weight?

You might say you are putting yourself first, to feel better about yourself, improve your health or have more energy to enjoy life. Think really deep about your answers, you want more than just surface level reasons.

To make sure you don’t lose track of why you are taking action and to stay focused, take the time to write down your top reasons and put that note where you can see it every day. Yes, it may take some time to determine your true motivations, but if the ‘why’ hits hard, then that is good. Go on… do it now or you won’t do it at all!

Do it for YOURSELF

When you disappoint yourself and don’t think and do as you really deep down want to, you lower your self-esteem. Whatever you do in your day sends signals back to yourself about what kind of person you are. Do the right thing like being effective, kind, preparing your meals in advance or simply take time out to rest and you will feel good.

If you get lazy, negative or just plain mean, you will feel worse after a while. You cannot get away, there is no escaping yourself! There is always a price to pay, so this is a powerful motivator to become a better person and be kind to yourself, we are not always perfect. This way you can be positive and stay on track. After all… YOU are totally worth it!

Take smaller steps if you need to

Some days getting started with everything that needs to be organised and prepared may seem daunting and you start to procrastinate. When that happens, nudge yourself forward rather than beating yourself up.

First focus on doing some of the small and simple preparations you can do. Or make a deal with yourself, just do 30 minutes of organisation and preparation for your first few meals. This will sometimes result in a few dents put into a big task and a couple of smaller things being completed for the day. Sometimes the easy start or restart to the day is all you need to get going again and to have a good and successful day. Either way, move forward instead of standing still.

Make the changes now, discover your ‘why’ and start working towards a healthier you!

Georgia lost 16 kgs and has Gained a World of Confidence

Georgia Before and After

My partner and I feel totally transformed after completing Dr Cohen’s Weight Loss Program.

My relationship with food, along with my capacity to make responsible choices have improved so, so much. Both of us rarely eat bread anymore, choosing low carb, gluten free or alternative plant/vegetable based substitutes. We’ve discovered a huge amount of products through our food re-education. Konjac noodles, cauliflower based, almond or coconut milks are just a few of the huge range of substitutes we now utilise.

We are looking forward to incorporating gym routines back into our lives (although a bit hard during the winter when we both work full time and chase around a toddler). We both enjoy mountain bike riding or walking and being in nature now as a weekend activity too.

It was certainly one of the most challenging things I’ve ever done, but up with the most rewarding too! I have lost almost 16 kilograms in just 12 weeks, and after wearing size 14/16 most of my adult life, I now fit into a size 8. This has given me a world of confidence.

Losing over 30 kgs Naomi looks Fabulous

Naomi before and after

I was worn out from carrying the extra weight, especially when I have work shifts that start at 2:30am. Besides… the clothes just don’t look that great.

So on the 1st of January I decide that enough was enough. It was time to get serious and get this weight off for good. I started my personal Cohen’s Eating Plan on the 21st of January and it took until the 13th of October for me to reach my goal weight and complete my Program. This is my second week of maintenance and it is going very well.

Drink heaps of water, take the vitamins and keep reading your personal Eating Plan to make sure you do not forget anything so you get the most out of your Program.

The Refeeding Program was good fun, especially since I could have pumpkin and lamb again. I learnt a lot about my body and found out I can not eat bread as I put on too much weight, but I honestly do not miss eating it at all. For a treat I will have a scotch finger and a little milk in my afternoon coffee.

In 10 short weeks Krishna Achieved his Goal

Krishna Before and After

I tried many methods of losing weight for years; from skipping meals through to taking health drinks and everything in between, only to be disappointed as I was unsuccessful with my weight loss.

Finally I joined Cohen’s Weight Loss Clinic and it changed everything. It helped me achieve my goal much quicker than what I thought it would. I stuck 100% to the Eating Plan and Refeeding Plan and attained the results in just 10 weeks.

I feel very proud when my family, friends and even colleagues are approaching me to admire my achievement. I am so happy and if my story can help at least one person I feel better than achieving my goal.

Losing Weight Carli Has Got Her Confidence Back

Carli Before and After

I am love, love, loving my new look, confidence and healthy lifestyle!

I get so many comments at work and from people I haven’t seen for a while – it’s a real confidence booster! I was super excited when I went dress shopping for an upcoming wedding – able to try on so many dresses and loving what I saw back in the mirror – instead of the previous look of “that’ll do until I lose weight!” I can’t wait to wear it out!

Before Cohen’s I thought I was eating healthy, all the right foods, never skipped meals and worked out at the gym a lot! And yet I only got bigger – I figured it was ‘turning 40’ that did it. Little did I know that my healthy eating was unhealthy for me and my body just turned it all to fat.

I’ve lost just over 19 kilograms and on a small frame it’s very evident, I am healthy again and love the way I look and feel – my confidence is great. I look forward to passing this healthy eating onto my family for life!

Thank you to Dr Cohen and The Cohen’s Team

A Healthy Lifestyle Change and Sophie lost 36 kgs

I heard about Cohen’s Weight Loss Clinic from a friend who lost weight quickly on the program and was looking fantastic. She also mentioned she had done some weight loss coaching so I decided to go along to an information session to find out more. I was extremely overweight and unhappy but having lost weight before on different diets and putting it back on over time, I knew for me, it was essential to get my head in the game, as well as eat differently if I was going to not only shed the weight but keep it off for good. I always knew I was going address my weight issue again, it was just a matter of when because I needed to be in the right head space and do it for me, no one else.

The combination of weight loss coaching and the Cohen’s Program was it for me. I was extremely daunted at the start when I heard what my goal weight was. I honestly wasn’t sure I could do it. But my consultants were fabulously supportive and they knew I could do it, so I just decided to start.

I found the program very straight forward and easy to follow because I made up my mind ONCE at the beginning, to do it properly with no deviations. It was more money than I have ever invested in myself but that helped me to commit to the program. And the funny things is, I saved SO much money on my grocery bills that it really wasn’t a big cost at all in the end. In fact, it probably paid for itself. Plus, making the decision to invest in myself and my health was a very important mental step for me to take. I had to decide I AM WORTH IT.

I began my Cohen’s Program on the 9th of October and started Maintenance on the 19th of March. During that 5 months, I had holidays interstate, Christmas parties, birthday parties, family gatherings and celebrations, weekends away, and LOTS of temptations and reasons to have a break, cheat or deviate. But I never wanted to. I packed my scales, hit the shops whenever I landed at my destination and I made it work. I even lost 6 to 7 kilograms over Christmas when everyone else usually stacks it on. I was steadfast in my resolve and I had learnt to acknowledge and be curious about my thoughts and emotions but not to let them make the decisions on what food I ate.

I was never hungry whilst on the program. Most of the time my meals looked way more appetising than those of the people around me and I have learnt to listen to my body. The Cohen’s Program does require commitment. If you want to shed nearly 36 kilograms in 5 months, then I think that is worth the effort. I did a lot of planning, cooking and preparation and we chose not to go out much over this time, however I knew it was a very small time to make a few sacrifices that would change my life in the end.

I feel completely different about myself now. I understand so much more about the impact that food and alcohol was having on my body. I have reframed how I view treating myself and I am loving the freedom to wear clothes I never thought I could from stores I never even felt brave enough to go into. The Cohen’s Program has given me a healthy lifestyle change, a formula to follow, more energy, confidence and peace of mind and probably added 20 years to my life. What is not to love?

Never Miss a Thing
