Water is So Important

Water is So Important

The secret to losing excess body fat is all around us. It covers two thirds of the planet... water! Most people don't drink enough water and most people are also carrying around a few more kilos than they would be if they did drink enough water. While on your Eating Plan we emphasize that drinking water is absolutely essential, not only because you may detox in the beginning, but when you start burning fat tissue it assists your body in elimination of toxic wastes and potentiates the weight loss affect.

Human beings are composed of approximately 70 percent water. The body's water is responsible for and involved in nearly every bodily process, including digestion, absorption, circulation and excretion. Inadequate water consumption may contribute to excess body fat; poor muscle tone; digestive problems; poor functioning of many organs, including the brain; joint and muscle soreness and water retention. Consuming plenty of water can slow the aging process and can prevent or improve arthritis, kidney stones, constipation, diabetes, hypoglycemia and many other diseases.

Metabolism: people use the term all the time, but ask them what it means and you will get all sorts of answers. Merriam Webster defines it as, "The process by which a substance is handled in the body." That is really all it means. There are many forms of metabolism, but we usually talk about the metabolism of fat. It is something that the liver does when it converts stored fat to energy. Unfortunately, the liver also picks up the slack from our kidneys, which need plenty of water to work properly. If the kidneys are water deprived, the liver has to do their work along with its own, lowering its total productivity. It then can't metabolize fat as quickly or efficiently as it could when the kidneys were pulling their own weight. If you allow this to happen, not only are you being unfair to your liver, but you are also setting yourself up to store fat. It is essential to replace the water that is continually being lost through sweating and elimination is very important.

... It may be difficult in the beginning, but the longer you continue, the more often you decide to take those extra little steps, the easier it becomes.
